    For registering yourself in Retail category as a user you need to follow the steps mentioned below:
    *Click on 'Register' Link on the homepage of IndiaPost Site
    *Click 'Retail' Category.Registration page will open for you.Provide your vaild personal and contact details.
    * Provide a hint question and answer that will be used to reset your password in case you forget your password later.
    * Select subscription option if you want to avail facilities like NewsLetter and SMS alerts.
    * Submit the details to complete the registration process.
    * A confirmation email with activation Link will be sent on your registered email ID for Account Activation.
    * You need to click activation link before 48 hours to activate account.
    * After activation you can logon to the IndiaPost Site with your User ID and One Time Password(OTP).
  • 2. What will happen if i did not clicked Activation Link before 48 hours?
    In this case your activation link will expire. You can use Resend Activation Link Service to resend the link again on your registered email ID.

  • 4. I have forgotten my password. How do I log-in now?
    To create a new password for log-in, follow the steps mentioned below:
    * Click Sign In button on the homepage of IndiaPost Site and then click the 'Forgot Password' link.
    * Enter your User ID and click the submit button.
    * Enter the answer of the hint question, provided by you while registration and click on Submit button.
    * One Time Password(OTP) will also sent to your registered email ID.
    *Login with OTP and User ID and change your password.

    Log in to your Account on IndiaPost Site, Select the 'Change Password' link at the top of your page. Enter your new password and submit the details.

    Log in to your Account on IndiaPost Site, click on 'My Profile' link at the top of your page. Modify the details and submit to update the details.
  • 7. Can i update my email id too?
    Yes, you can update your email id from 'My Profile' link . A verification link will be sent to your new email ID. Click verification link and your email id will be updated.
  • 8. My User ID has got blocked. What should I do?
    On entering wrong password five times consecutively, your user ID will get blocked for 30 minutes. After this period, it will automatically become active.Or alternatively you can use Forgot Password Service to generate an OTP and reset your Password .
  • 9. What should I do if my account get expired?
    If you do not log-in to your account on IndiaPost Site for 3 (Three) months, your account will get expire. In this case on logging into your account you will get account Expiry Message along with Resend Activation Link.You can click this link to send activation link to your registered email Id.

    * Memorise User Id and Password
    * Do not write them down anywhere
    * Do not tell your User ID/Password to anyone.

    In this case, you will be able to login with expired password. After logging in you will be redirected to change password screen, you have to enter your old and new password, confirm new password and submit the details to set new password.

    UserID is a unique identity and cannot be changed. For a new UserID, you have to to register again on the IndiaPost Site as a new user.

    No, you can not have multiple accounts with same UserID. UserID is a unique identity and checked at the time of registration for uniqueness.
  • 14. Can I share my user-id and password with others?
    Sharing UserID or password is not a good practice as it is confidential and your personal Information. It is strongly advised not to share your UserId or password to others for security issues,As you will be liable for any transaction or activity done from your account.

    No, you can have only one account with one e-mail address.

    • 1. How and who can register in Corporate category?
      For registering yourself in Corporate category on IndiaPost Site,first you need to register yourself as a corporate customer and have an agreement with India Post for the Business Service you want to avail.Additionally,follow the steps mentioned below to create your Account on IndiaPost Site:
      *Click on 'Register' Link on the homepage of IndiaPost Site
      *Click 'Corporate' category. Registration page will open for you.
      * Provide your valid Corporate Customer ID and Contract Information to link your account.
      *Click Submit and provide your personal details and a hint question and answer that will be used to reset your password in case you forget your password later.
      *Select Contracts you want to link to your account.
      * Select subscription option if you want to avail facilities like NewsLetter and SMS alerts.
      * Submit the details to complete the registration process.
      * A confirmation email with activation Link will be sent on your registered email ID for Account Activation.
      * You need to click activation link before 48 hours to activate account.
      * After activation you can logon to the IndiaPost Site with your User ID and One Time Password(OTP).

        For registering yourself in OSA/Franchisee category on IndiaPost Site,you should be registered as an agent or Franchisee with IndiaPost. Additionally follow the steps mentioned below to create your account on India Post site:
        *Click on 'Register' Link on the homepage of IndiaPost Site
        *Click '' OSA/Franchise"category. Registration page will open for you.
        * Provide your valid Agent ID and Email ID to link your account.

          For registering yourself in Global Customers (GCIF holders) category you should have your KYC done with India Post and should have a valid Global Customer Identification Number(GCIF).Additionally, follow the steps mentioned below to create your account on India Post Site:
          *Click on 'Register' Link on the homepage of IndiaPost Site
          *Click 'Global Customers (GCIF holders)'category. Registration page will open for you.
          Provide your Valid KYC details and hint question and answer that will be used in case you forget your password.

          • 1. Why do I see different prices for the same service?
            Price of the service offered depend on the destination for delivery.
          • 2. How do I prepare my article before sending out for delivery?
            Your article should be properly packed and sealed.
            You have to paste the postage label on the packed article.Please ensure the proper pasting of postage label to avoid any misplacement.
            In case of more then one article.Seperate postage label as per details provided have to be pasted on each article.
            Please insure the Details on the postage label pasted are clearly visible to ensure smooth acceptance of the article at post office.
          • 3. How do I know my booking has been confirmed?
            You will get the SMS after acceptance of the article at Post Office on the number provided by you in Sender's Mobile Number details at the time of booking.
          • 4. Is it necessary to have an account to book a mail?
            You can do mail booking simply by providing just your Article information along with sender and receiver details. While it is not necessary to have an account to do mail booking, it is recommended that you create one. By creating your own IndiaPost account, you can enjoy a personalized experience, including your transaction history, a self maintained adressbook and various options to manage your mails which include cancellation,recall and redirection of booked article,Resceduling or cancelling the article pickup for the pickup Request service.
          • 5. When and how can I cancel an order?
            You can cancel the booking only before the article is inducted at post office.Cancellation Service is provided only if you have booked the article through your registered account.To cancel your mail go to Home>>Menu>>Mailservices>>ManageMail>>Cancel Booked Mail.
          • 6. When and how can I recall my booked article?
            You can recall article at any stage before the article is delivered or assigned to postman for delivery to the Recipient.You can recall the article from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>Manage Mail>>Recall Mail.
          • 7. When and how Can I redirect the mail to other Address?
            You can redirect your article to a different Recipient Address at any stage before the article is delivered or assigned to postman for delivery to the Recipient.You can redirect the article from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>Manage Mail>>Redirect Mail.
          • 8. When and how Can I reschedule my Pickup Appointment?
            You can reschedule the pickup before the booking is assigned to postman for PickUp.You can reschedule the pickup from your registered account through which Booking has been done.Home>>Menu>>Mail Services>>PickUp Request>>Request for Pick Up Rescheduling.
          • 9. When and how Can I cancel my Pickup?

          • 10. Can I provide the different Address to Return the article if not delivered?
            You are provided with the option of Return Address at the time of Booking.You can keep the Return Address same as your sender Address or can provide the different Address.
          • 11. What's Not Allowed?
            Anything which is sent in contravention of any enactment for the time being in force.
            Any indecent or obscene printing, painting, photograph, lithograph, engraving, book or card, or any other indecent or obscene articles.
            Any letter, postcard, newspaper, packet or parcel having on it or on the cover thereof, any words, marks or design of an indecent, obscene, seditious, scurrilous threatening, or grossly offensive nature.
            Any explosive, inflammable, dangerous, filthy, noxious or deleterious substance.
            Any Living creatures or other thing which is either noxious or likely to injure postal article in course of transmission by post or any officer.
            Tickets proposal or advertisement or any other matter relating to a lottery except to the lottery organized or authorized by Government.
            Gold coins or bullion or both of a value exceeding Rs. 20,000/-.

            • 1. Who can avail this service?
              You can avail the service of International Mail booking either as an anonymous user or with your registered accout in India Post site.
            • 2. Is there any content weight and size limitations for the article?
              Yes, there are some limitations regarding the weight, size and content of the item. To know more, you can visit Mail Services -->> Mail Product.
            • 3. Which items can be sent to a given country?
              You can check the details of prohibited articles for a particular country in the booking page itself or you can visit Mail services -> Prohibited Articles
            • 4. Can I send more than one article?
              Yes, you can send more than one article at a time, click on add more item button provided on the booking screen.
            • 5. Can I send articles to more than one person?
              No, you can add only one receipient at a time.
            • 6. Can I see the details of selected additional services for a particular item?
              Yes, you can see the details on item summary screen.

            • Electronic Money Order

              • 1. What is Electronic Money Order (eMO)?
                Electronic Money Order is a web based rapid money transfer service offered by India Post between two individuals within India.
              • 2. How fast is the money transfer using Electronic Money Order?
                Money booked through Electronic Money Order can be disbursed within 24 hours.
              • 3. How much money can be sent through Electronic Money Order?
                A minimum of 1.00 INR and a maximum of 5000.00 INR can be sent through Electronic Money Order.
              • 4. Is the money paid in cash using Electronic Money Order?
                Yes,receiver can receive the payment in cash.
              • 5. How can I Book an Electronic Money Order?
                Money can be booked either online or from any Electronic Money Order center.To book an Electronic Money Order from IndiaPost Site Goto: Home-->>Financial service-->>Electronic Money Order(EMO) and follow the easy 3 step booking process from anywhere anytime.

                2. Provide the Details.
                3. Pay online.
                Thereafter the receipt will be generated for your transaction with Transaction ID and Money Order Number which  can be used for further correspondence if required.
              • 6. Is it mandatory to have Postal Savings Bank account to book an Electronic Money Order online?
                Yes, you must have a Postal Savings Bank account which should be linked with your registered account on IndiaPost Site to book an Electronic Money Order.
              • 7. Can I send Electronic Money Order to multiple people?
                Yes, you can add upto 5 recipients in a single Transaction.
              • 8. How does the payee collect money sent by Electronic Money Order?
                The payee can receive money at home or can visit the nearest Post Office during priscribed working hours to collect the money.
              • 9. What can be presented as proof of identity by the payee?
                The payee can prove his /her identity by presenting any of the following photo-identity documents:
                (a) Voter's I-Card
                (b) PAN Card
                (c) Ration Card with photo of receiver
                (d) Post Office Identity Card
                (e) Driving License
                (f) Passport
                (g) Approved/Recognized Central Government/ State Government/ PSU/Office/College/University ID Card
              • 10. Is Electronic Money Order expensive?
                Electronic Money Order tariff has been kept same as that for ordinary Money Order.
              • 11. Can I send message along with money through Electronic Money Order?
                Yes, you can send message along with money through Electronic Money Order. You will be provided with the option for message while filling the details and it will be delivered along with the money at no extra cost.
              • 12. Can I cancel my Electronic Money Order?
                IndiaPost Site provides you the facility to cancel the payment of your Electronic Money Order.To Cancel Login with your registered IndiaPost account and Goto: Home-->Financial Services-->Stop Payment.
                Electronic Money Order can be canceled but only before it has not been delivered to the payee. 
              • 13. Can I track my Electronic Money Order?
                Yes, you can easily track your Electronic Money Order using the Money Order Number provided on receipt. To track  go to  Track Consignment service provided in quick tools on Home Page.
              • 14. What if I forgot to print the receipt of my Electronic Money Order Booking?
                A copy of your receipt will be sent to the email address provided during booking on IndiaPost Site as soon as the booking is confirmed. So that, you can print it whenever required.
              • 15. Is it possible to save the booking addresses for future use?
                IndiaPost Site provides you the facility to maintain your Address Book through your registered IndiaPost account.You can save the addresses entered during booking to AddressBook for future use.
              • 16. Is it necessary to regsiter on IndiaPost site to Book an Electronic Money Order?
                Yes,It is mandatory to have a registered India Post Account with POSB Net Banking Linked to it to book Electronic Money Order Online.
              • 17. Where can I see my Booking Transaction History?
                Login to IndiaPost Site with your registered Account and go to My Transaction History
              • Instant Money Order

                • 1. What is Instant Money Order?
                  Instant Money Order is a web based instant money transfer service offered by India Post between two individuals within India.
                • 2. How fast is the money transfer using Instant Money Order?
                  Money booked through Instant Money Order can be disbursed within 15 minutes of Booking.
                • 3. How much money can be sent through Instant Money Order?
                  A minimum of 1,000.00 INR and a maximum of 50,000.00 INR can be sent through Instant Money Order.
                • 4. Is the money paid in cash for Instant Money Order?
                  You can receive the payment in cash. You can also receive the payment through your post office savings bank account in the same Instant Money Order office.
                • 5. How to book an Instant Money Order?
                  The Instant Money Order can be booked online using IndiaPost site
                  Go to Home-- Financial Services-- Instant Money Order and follow the easy 3 step booking process to book your Instant Money Order from the comfort of your home or office.

                  2. Provide the Details.
                  3. Pay online
                  Thereafter the receipt will be generated and a secret code will be send to you on Mobile Number provided during booking. You have to share this secret Code to the payee to collect the payment.The Transaction number and Money Order number provided on the receipt can be used for further correspondence if required.

                  Yes, you must have a Postal Savings Bank account which should be linked with your registered account on IndiaPost Site to book an Instant Money Order.

                      • 1. How can I claim payment of deceased account / certificate holder?
                        The claimant may be the nominee or legal heir.
                        If there is nomination, the nominee can prefer the claim in the prescribed form alongwith death certificate.
                        If there is no nomination, any one of the legal heirs can prefer the claim in the prescribed form [SB84]. For this death certificate and consent statements of all legal heirs are required. Claim upto one lakh can be settled.
                        If the claim is exceeding one lakh, claims can be settled by legal evidence ie, by probate of will or succession certificate.
                      • 2. How to transfer accounts and certificate?
                        For transfer of accounts- the depositor should apply in the prescribed form [SB10(b)] or manual application. The application can be given either in transferring office or transferee office.
                        For transfer of certificates- the investor should apply in the prescribed form[NC32]. The application may be given in either of the offices.
                      • 3. How to open an account in post office and its requirements?
                        To open an account [Savings Bank(SB), Recurring Deposit(RD), Time Deposit(TD), Monthly Income Scheme(MIS) SB3, SB103 (pay-in-slip) and specimen signature slip for SB and TD are required.
                        For senior citizen accounts, separate forms are to be used. For SB account introduction is compulsory.
                      • 4. What is silent account and how to revive it?
                        When there is no transaction in an SB account continuously for 3 financial years, the account will be treated as silent account.
                        For revival, one application from the customer is required. LSG/HSG offices can revive the accounts independently. Remaining offices, HO will revive the accounts.
                        If the balance in the silent account is less than minimum, then INR. 20/- will be debited towards service charges.
                      • 5. What are late payment fees for recurring deposits?
                        The monthly deposits should be credited on any day of the month. If the monthly instalment is not credited for any particular month, then it becomes a default. The defaulted months can be credited subsequently (for INR. 10/- denomination, 0.20 paise for each month of default) maximum 4 defaults are allowed.
                      • 6. What is the procedure for the issue of duplicate certificates?
                        The investor should apply in the prescribed form for duplicate certificate in respect of lost, stolen, destroyed, mutilated or defaced certificates (NC29).
                        The application shall be accompanied by a statement showing particulars of certificates and furnish an indemnity bond in the prescribed form with one or more sureties or with a bank guarantee is required.
                        In case of mutilated or defaced certificates, no indemnity bond is required.

                          • 15. Is premium recovered through salary?
                            Yes, recovery of the premia through salary is possible, in offices where it is remitted directly to PLI. However, premia are to be deposited in any post office as per convenience i.e. monthly/half yearly/ yearly where there is no recovery through salary.
                          • 16. Why is the premia for children's policy higher?
                            As both children's and parent's risk is covered.
                          • 17. Can one revive a lapsed policy?
                            If the premia are not paid for 6 months in case policy is in currency for 3 years (or) 12 months in case policy is more than 3 years old, then the policy becomes void. This needs revival to make it active. Revival shall not be allowed on more than two occasions during the entire term of the policy. Policy can be revived any time one year before maturity.
                          • 18. What happens if one forgets to pay one's premium in a month?
                            One can pay the premium in the subsequent month, by paying a minimum fine of Re. 1/- per hundred of sum assured.
                          • 19. Is loan facility available in PLI?
                            Loan can be taken from EA policy after completion of 3 years and in respect of Whole Life after completion of 4 years. Loan facility is available in AEA policies.

                            EA policies after 3 years from date of issue of policy.

                            Surrender value of a policy, means the amount that is payable to an assured, when he foregoes the contingent benefit of his policy and surrenders it for an immediate cash payment.

                            Surrender value depends on the surrender factor and type and term of policy.
                          • 24. Can one get the full amount paid with accrued bonus, if policy is surrendered prematurely?
                            Endowment Assurance policy can be surrendered after 36 months.

                            WLA policy can be surrendered after 48 months.

                            Children policy can be surrendered after 60 months.

                            No surrender for AEA policy.

                            Bonus will be taken into account after 5 years for surrender value calculation on the paid up value. But surrendering any policy prematurely is always a loss to the insurant. Hence, it is suggested not to go for surrender.
                            It is not a simple saving scheme but it aims to give risk coverage also.
                            It provides immediate Insurance coverage from the date of acceptance. Full policy amount with accrued bonus will be given even if death occurs on the very next day of acceptance of the proposals for all bonafide cases.
